UNITED WAY BENGALURU: THE BEST RURAL DEVELOPMENT NGO IN BANGALORE

Based on an economic survey published on the Ministry of Finance website in January 2023, 65% of India’s population lives in rural areas and 47% of the population is dependent on agriculture for livelihood as of 2021. This highlights the pressing need for NGOs like United Way Bengaluru to support rural development.

United Way Bengaluru supports rural development by focusing on improving and sustaining the standard of living of the community members in rural areas of the country, empowering the local people in rural areas and tapping opportunities for rural development through varied interventions.

The rural rising project aligns with United Way Bengaluru’s vision of “a world where all individuals and families achieve their human potential through education, income stability, safe drinking water availability, clean energy and livelihood of vulnerable and marginalized families.

Vision

Promoting self-sustainable rural communities with assured access to quality education, better health resources, access to improved livelihood resources and clean environment.

Goal

To improve the quality of early child care and development services, school education, hygiene and sanitation practices, water conservation and livelihood enhancement in selected gram panchayats aspirational districts of India.
