The transgender community face a lot of discrimination and are sometimes not provided access to basic human rights like medical care and shelter. United Way Bengaluru works on transgender related projects to advocate for the rights of marginalized groups to help them lead a respectful life in a more inclusive society.
As part of our mission, United Way Bengaluru actively supports Self-help Groups (SHGs), to cultivate self-reliance and promote social cohesion among community members.

Puberty is a crucial stage of one’s development that is marked by physical and emotional changes. During this period, teenagers are often faced with increased academic and peer pressure. To overcome these challenges, teenagers require guidance and counseling from teachers who adopt a friendly approach, creating a safe space for open communication.
This type of guidance goes beyond traditional methods, helping students build confidence, resilience, and a sense of United Way Bengaluru trains teachers to handle teenage issues related to gender sensitivity.
