Supporting a School for the under-privileged

The CSHP School in the down-market “Michael Palya” area is set up in a building donated by a local benefactor. Here, 800 children from the most financially challenged families are taken through class I to VII. As the parents are not able to even feed the children adequately, the children are first given a nourishing drink when they arrive in the morning. In an attempt to give the students an equal opportunity, HP has donated PCs to the School.



Akshay Patra – supported by the Deshpande Foundation – provides a free mid-day meal. Sheela Murthy has herself committed USD 250,000 to the School through UWBe, spread over a period of 10 years. Suku Radia has sent mechanical pencils to encourage and inspire the children. UWBe would be raising its involvement with the School otherwise too, bringing in assistance “in kind.”
